Big Lake

The first Borderland Collective project, these photographs were made in 2007 by youth living in Big Lake, Texas, a small oil and ranching town in West Texas. Extending from a conversation about conflating art and social studies education,  we worked with these young people to explore their role in constructing the cultural and historical narratives of the town.
